CEO & founder, ASTUTIA
Benedict Rodenstock is CEO and founder of ASTUTIA, a Munich-based investment boutique specializing in direct investments in Internet growth companies, mostly in the German-speaking area. ASTUTIA holds some 12 investments, among them such gems as 99chairs, Stylelounge, and Asana Yoga. Success stories from the past include Mister Spex, Dreamlines, and Fashionette. ASTUTIA is not a fund, but a family office. In its 11 years of existence, the firm invested in some 50 ventures. Benedict’s former employers include Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, more.de (a subsidiary of Web.de), and Hubert Burda Media. Benedict holds a Diploma (Laurea) in Contemporary History from the University of Bologna (Italy), a Certificate in Internet Technologies from New York University (USA), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Sankt Gallen (Switzerland). Benedict is Munich-born, yet a global citizen, having visited 50+ countries and mastering 5 languages. He is married with a three-year-old son. In his scarce spare time, Benedict enjoys contemporary art (he is president of Kunstclub13, an art club in Munich) and mountain sports, especially mountain biking and skiing.
